# 1 The Boudoir
Silks and satins, a mixtures of fabrics set the scene for this French style restaurant. This is French dining at it’s best in the Maenam area. Tourists come here for the great selection of meats and cheeses on the menu.
# 2 Tree Tops Chaweng
This restaurant is int he Anantara and is perhaps on of Ko Samuis best. If you are into fine dining head over here. There are only 8 tables set in a tree house which makes for a real holiday dining experience. You will feel fantastic dining among nature in the trees. Book early as the number of guests means that you have to plan well ahead. The menu covers all bases here with meats, seafood and delicious Thai cuisine. This place is not cheap so be prepared to fork out top dollars.
# 3 Spirit House Chaweng
A fantastic Samui experience where you feel like you have been transported back in time to bygone days of old Thailand. Constructed on brick and teakwood with staff dress in period attire this feels like dining in an authentic Thai village. There is even a Thai temple within the compound. Go for the set Thai menu as you will get the very best of what’s on offer here. There is also cooking classes and a day spa which makes this venue truly unique in Samui.
# 4 The Larder Chaweng
You could call The Larder a Gastro style pub or bistro. Comfort food using all the very best and freshest ingredients on the island. A gourmet delight where you will find British and European food all served in a welcoming ‘home cooked style’ atmosphere. The place is that popular because of it’s good old fashioned food that it’s busy every day of the week so please book ahead. There are so many Brits, Aussies and Europeans coming to Samui, that it’s no surprise that The Larder is so difficult to get into.
# 5 Jungle Club
For fantastic views over Ko Samui and an adrenalin fuelled ride there (only the last bit), the Jungle Club is a great place for lunch or dinner. Essentially it is a resort with over 17 bungalows but for the food and the views this is a great restaurant. Sit on the comfortable cushion chars, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the food. People come here more for the relaxed atmosphere and views. The food is OK and adequate but probably best suited for a family wanting wholesome steaks and salads rather than hi end cuisine. If you want to have Thai dishes this is on the menu as well.
# 6 Dining on the Rocks, Big Buddha
This is the main restaurant of the Six Senses Resort Samui and is great place to dine outdoors under the warm tropical Samui night. Very romantic and ideal for couples wanting to experience fine dining with a world class ambiance. You can dine on the outdoor terrace decks and enjoy the panoramic views over the Gulf of Siam or in you prefer the indoor dining area.
# 7 Stacked Chaweng Beach
Stacked is the signature restaurant of the OZO Resort Samui and right in the main part of town. The food here is typically western with a long list of gourmet burgers and salads. Come here for a feed and the happy hour between 5-7 pm.
# 8 9 Gems Lounge
This restaurant is like a modern art gallery and is on the road out of Chaweng about 10 min from the centre of town. It’s bright, airy and serves fantastic modern cuisine. The views here are sensational and these alone are well worth a visit. Come as a group or as a couple for a romantic night out, but be prepared to pay for it as this place is not cheap.
